First of all I've come a ways since my last post (nothing special, just crossed a channel to get to Elder and it was cool) basically I have beaten the elder, moved into the Iron Age and started taming wolves, and I've started to slow down a bit before the next boss (not ready for drakes).
I explored a bit and discovered some draugr villages. Again, not really a big deal, but I'd never cleared one before. One of them was on the other side of my main continent, like if you picture a crescent and think I'm on the inside of it, this village would be on the outside. I decided it was a good place for a port city, I have multiple wolf packs across a few of my settlements, and it would be cool to clear a draugr village, so I had my mission! I bred a separate pack of wolves to accompany/reinforce me and grabbed my gear and took off!
So, funny little part about this story is that I actually made it all the way with all of my wolves, but before my game decided to save my computer decided it would be a good time to restart. Usually when it dies, it just shuts off, maybe due to heat idk. But I had all but made it to the village, through the black forest and everything…
When my computer restarted I had to start all over from my base, so I grabbed my gear and I grabbed my wolves again. I set off, and while I was charging through the black forest, trying to keep an eye out, I got well within throwing range of a troll. I tried evading it, but it was way too late, and a battle ensued between my seven wolves and the troll. Before I could step in, the troll had finished ALL SEVEN OF THEM. I was sad, but there was no time for grieving. That troll ate a few fire arrows before I avenged my goodness boys and girls with my atgeir, and placed a map marker for later. I plan on returning and placing a memorial, although I couldn't name all of them…
You could say I felt remorseful, but I completed our mission with a fury, even completely removing the front of one of the buildings in the town. The actual draugr village proved less stressful or challenging than the journey to the place, but c'est la vie en Valheim, eh?
If you made it this far, I hope you enjoyed my little story. I hope to upload some pictures one of these days, this world has been like a series of stories that make it feel like mine, but I have no claim to any really Great stories. Just having fun, so thanks for reading!
TL,DR Seven wolves on their own are not enough to defeat a troll, and the journey is always a quest of its own.
