Word of caution: T-7 is not worth 2+mil.

TL;DR: T-7 is not worth 2mil, don't invest in it – you will likely regret it.

I will try to keep this short and brief.

First off, there are some factors that affect item value in tarkov:

• Resell value to trader
  • Therapist, Mechanic, etc buys stuff back.
• Barter value
  • Some items are valued relatively to what the item it is converted to is priced in the market. Example: LEDX, Defibs, etc
• Players' willingness to pay
  • For highly sought after items, competition to buy limited number of items result in price increases.
• Trader offer
  • Normally, most item values cannot go too higher than a trader's offer unless its demand is so high the stock gets depleted

Now, the T-7s seem to be the center of attention due to players' misconception it is some magical device that makes you become god at the game, and its value is like 10mil. It has resulted in some players even stockpiling them with a speculation that price will go up, making them rich in the future. However, it is my opinion that it is very unlikely.

T-7s are only as valuable as…
The amount(X) of players willing to use the T-7 in-raid at the pricetag(Y) where X is equal to market supply and Y being market price.

T-7s once went up to 10mil as a collector's item solely because Nikita removed it from the traders(only supply) because of the secure container cheese tactic. But then, with 12.2 patch the T-7 can no longer be put inside secure containers. Nikita has likely just forgot to adjust Jaeger price back to 900k where it was before. That's why Jaeger still sells it at 7 mil.

It does not mean it has any value close to 7 mil. If nobody buys them at 7 mil, why would its value be 7 mil? Traders buy back the T-7 at like 350k. If literally no one bought T-7s because they were expensive, their market value would drop at least up until it became 350k(the arbitrage point).

Then, what is the fair value of T-7?
I do not know. However, think about the following question: even a REAP-IR which pretty much does the same thing is extremely rarely seen by PMCs using it due to its 200k pricetag. T-7 forces you to use iron sights only, and it prohibits uses of faceshields and limit helmet choices. Would you yourself use it at a 3 million pricetag? If the answer is yes, feel free to "invest(speculate)" and stock up on it right now. If you think the answer is no yet you somehow think everyone else would be willing to pay that price to use it in-raid, think again.
