EA Is Not Dumb

Electronic Arts (EA) has a current market cap of $27 Billion, $5b in revenue (2018), 23 studios across the globe, and 9,700 total employees.

This entire sub is an armchair publisher that thinks they know more than this massive company that has been in business for 37 years. News flash: you don't.

EA has no doubt performed meticulous research and data analytics to determine the peak price point for cosmetics and loot boxes to capture both whales and infrequent spenders. If they could make more money pricing these items differently, they would.

Scrolling this sub's hot posts right now, 9 out of the 10 top posts are complaining about the Iron Crown pricing model. Back in March 2019, Respawn announced that Apex Legends had hit 50 Million players. This sub represents 1.6% of the total user base, and even less considering that player count number would have risen since March. While you might not like the prices and in a fit of rage declare to "not spend a penny on this Iron Crown Event", keep in mind that there are literally millions of other players that will.

EA's strategy will succeed and outside of government intervention (i.e. Belgium), no amount of bitching from this sub will change that.
