I've really have to say it: while World's Edge 1.0 was nice I didn't like it that much.
But oh boy, the new areas changed a lot the map in a big positive way!
– splitting capitol city is genius, you don't get anymore those infinite third parties but actually you can decide wisely where to land, loot safely and decide where to rotate;
– the planet harvester is great, it gives me some kind of Halo vibes. It also destroyed two of the places I hated the most (Fuel depot with his tower and the zone between fuel depot and thermal station). It also feels natural to rotate to sorting/capitol/thermal from there, a big thing design-wise;
– Train Yard is the third place I hated the most, it's still there but they added zipelines that go up from the ground, they were much needed;
– the survey camp is nice and the guns racks are a good idea that it could be explored more in the future;
– the change in the atmosphere color towards red make (to my eyes) the map nicer overall.
And we still have some empty spaces that they will fill for sure with new points of interest.
Really great job respawn, I 100% like more this map than King's Canyon.
P.S. I didn't speak about it but the new skins, revenant and the sentinel are great
