TL:DR – KC is madness and it should only be a map for new players to learn the game, for skilled players it's too small and chaotic.
When they changed to WE from KC back at season 3 I was very disappointed.
Mainly because I was talking to my friends about Crypto (that was released on season 3 along WE) and how he would put an end on Caustic and Wraith on KC.
But also:
1 – KC was getting too small, at the beginning of the game and people were learning it was a fantastic and fast map, but as everyone was improving in the game, the map felt very small and the closed areas were very easy for a Caustic, Wattson combo.
2 – WE felt so damn big and it still does, but the worst problem with it was the choke points (that they removed) and the mad at capitol city (that was fix it too by splitting it) and the feeling that you could just not move over the map, except if you were playing Path or Wraith.
I really wanted a new map too not gonna lie, but WE was horrible and Crypto was useless there in comparison with what he could have been in KC. I thought that a new map would be like, that other island on KC a little bit bigger and that would be just fine.
I was looking forward for KC to come back but then the Season 4 came with incredible changes on WE and I've been wanting to thank de devs for the changes, that in my point of view, were totally on point!
The game feels faster and you can make strategies and it takes a little longer, just a little, to get 3rd party on WE but it's enough time to disengage and regroup… Plus, I feel so much more rewarded killing on WE because it involves more than just luck, now that everyone knows KC it feels that is just luck, I've played 1 game and 17 squads dropped on skull city, round 2 there were 2 squads… It feels so arcade..
My point is WE, in my opinion, evolve it for a better map that KC ever was and I wish that the devs could know this, because with all this fuss about KC, I feel like they are ready to make a permanent comeback to KC due to this Harvester thing on WE that seems that would be a lore thing that could destroy the planet and make us go back to KC.
Sorry for the long post, I’m just tired of playing on KC and the new WE made the game so refreshing for me… I wish this could stay…
So thank you Respawn for season 4, despite the lag issues and the other technical issues I am having a blast! The new WE is the shit!
