I had quite a bit of a problem with Alliance-9 for 279(e). Firstly, I don't play arty. Never liked it, never will. However, there is one more problematic mission than the arty one, Alliance-8. Simple Geometry (25 critical hits in 10 games). I am skipping 2 sets (Bloc and Union, as I just prefer playing the Alliance and Coalition tanks). I have done all the "-15" missions in both Chimera and Excalibur with honors, so I am left with 8 orders at my disposal, two of which I am planning to commit on missions for Alliance and Coalition, both of these will probably be the 25 crit missions.
Anyways, arty missions have always been a drag to me, since they require me to play a class I don't enjoy and take no interest in. I've tried doing 130s of stun per game in the M40/M43 and in the FV207. Only once I broke the 130s barrier with 152s of stun in M40/M43 with derp, after no luck with small gun. First game in FV3805 (which I free exped), I easily broke 180s. Second game was 220s. To be fair, the last few I was behind with stunning, but I managed to complete the mission with honors, even though in tier VIII artilleries I couldn't even get close to completing it without honors. The FV 3805 is a solid artillery, with food and BiA crew I was reloading for 19 seconds while stunning for 12. Guess 279(e) really is about just having the correct tank. Cheers.
TLDR: Get FV3805, completed mission with honors in 11 games (reset after first battle).
