I'm currently grinding a few light tank lines and I'm at tiers 6 and 7. The problem down in these tiers (and even tier 8 for some lines) is that the base view range is still too low.
I don't run food. I have BiA on most crews.
Gun rammer is the usual must-have (or is it for light tanks?), but I can't make up my mind about everything else. I think vision is king when it comes to light tanks, so I'm going Coated Optics and Binos, but lately I feel like not using Vertical Stabilizers is a real waste and severely cuts down on my flexibility.
I'm trying to choose between the following setups:
Rammer / Optics / Binos – vision above all else. Binos aren't always practical, but when I need them it feels great to have them. Furthermore, I'll play vision games much more often (think moving to a spot, using the max view range circle and waiting for binos, moving again, etc.)
Rammer / Optics / Vert stabs – flexibility above all else. This setup focuses on being mobile and having great gun handling. You're everywhere and you're sneaking in shots and getting out before enemies can react. My only issue is why play a light tank at all then? Like this you're just a worse medium tank.
Rammer / Vert stabs / Binos – not sure about this one, but it's what I've been thinking about switching to. But I think I'd hate not having any view range on the move.
The real limiting factor here is, as always, not running food, still the most bullshit pay-two-win aspect of this game (more than gold ammo). But it's out of the table for me, since I don't have a premium account.
For those who also don't run food, what equipment do you use on mid tier light tanks that don't yet have great base view range?
Thanks!
