I'm coming to terms with the fact that wheeled vehicles are just another broken addition to the game and that they're here to stay in their current form.
The tier 8 premium and tier 9 and 10 tanks are blatantly overperforming. But even the rest of the wheeled vehicles offer nothing but pure toxic gameplay and an overall decrease in game quality.
There's plenty of issues that have been debated to death (that I'm still going to go over):
Ludicrous speed that doesn't fit a slow paced game as World of Tanks, nor its physics engine for that matter.
Very high camo, with no in-game or balancing justification – they're tall, camo values should be lower.
Great gun handling, allows them to consistently hit shots at 95 km/h – they should be forced to slow down a lot or even come to a full stop to hit anything.
Overpowered HE shells, allows them to outduel any light tank in the game and, coupled with their speed and gun-handling, pretty much any other paper tank in the game.
And now let's look at what should be their downsides and how they're really just lies Wargaming tells to appease the community:
Bad turning – one of the balancing factors most people seem to forget and one of the most bullshit ones too. Wheeled vehicles pull absurd 90º turns at top speed all the time; everyone has witnessed it and its part of the reason they're so hard to hit.
Bad view range – another bullshit excuse by Wargaming, since they're speed coupled with their camo allows them to perform insane high risk scout runs where view range is meaningless. At high tiers, with the prevalence of multi skill crews, bond equipment and premium consumables, it's a non-issue for wheeled vehicles.
Low DPM – the final lie and salt in the wounds. The marketing leading to their release kept mentioning how wheeled vehicles would be weaker than light tanks, with much lower DPM and worse guns (worse pen, I guess?), but this was pure BULLSHIT as we all now know. They start getting higher alpha earlier than most lights and as if that wasn't enough, they get those great HE rounds that allow them to circumvent their "bad" DPM.
Also worth noting, DPM is pretty much meaningless in vehicles that thrive in hit-and-run tactics. Having higher alpha and lower RoF is actually the perfect combo for hitting someone, running away reloading and getting unspotted and then coming back in at 95 km/h with fucking pinpoint accuracy.
But besides all of that, my point is, do you even think they'll get nerfed anymore? Seeing as the 1.7.1 supertest is coming without even a slight touch to their stats, I'm ready to give up on the hopes of balanced wheeled vehicles.
And is that even possible? Or are they just broken like arty, 183 HESH and even how the Waffentrager E100 was?
