For the past 11 years, wargaming has delivered what, to older players, seems like a great product. However, this does not take into account certain aspects of the game's coding and economy. Not criticizing or anything, but wargaming's matchmaker is LITERALLY RIGGED to give premium tanks better matchmaking – this means less +2 battles and more -2 battles, and higher chances of having more skilled players on their team. This basically means that most tech tree tanks are rendered obsolete, compared to their premium counterparts. The only real solutions would be to either (a) limit premium vehicle purchases –> make sure that the entire matchmaker isn't just premiums, (like the obj 780 event but with better timing) or (b) limit the number of premium tanks in a game –> why should a stock tier 6/7 tech tree tank have to fight reward (or premium) tier 8.9/9.5 vehicles with better matchmaking, better crews for the most part, likely bond or bounty equipment, never-ending supplies of gold rounds, and often times better characteristics than the fully upgraded tech tree tank, let alone when stock.
The only real solution to is to rework the system – make sure that premiums only get matched up against premiums, and make sure that there is some semblance of a care for the people grinding lines or newer players. Wargaming has done none of these seriously (yes they did implement a new, better tutorial, but that only affects brand-new players, not players who happened to be unlucky enough to sign up the day before it was implemented). Seriously wargaming, in order to prevent your game from dying like you are so concerned about, you must CARE for the NEW players, not simply rewarding those with deep pockets or near-infinite time to play, as no new player will spend that much time or money on something they have only just seen.
Feel free to disagree in the comments; this is just my opinion
EDIT: This is simply my (failed) attempt to make a satire of the opinions of some of the community. I do not actually believe any of this – I mean –> bad MM is bad MM regardless of premium or tech tree, and why the hell would you want more 780-type crap (unless you want to get up at like 3:00 in the morning to get one in the ~30 seconds they're available.
