I asked a question in one of the WOT official Twitch streams which was "Are there any plans to merge all crew members into one Commander" and the answer was there were no plans to do this. This shocked me as I thought this was the main reason for bringing in a new crew system so you didn't have to worry about managing how you would fit different crews and role configurations into different tanks.
With the old system it is kind of manageable although you might need some extra crew members or may need to double up on some skills. With the new system you will have so many new and improved unique skills that moving crew between different tanks with different crew setups and roles is going to be a nightmare and make this problem far worse than it was before. This punishes people who like to move crews between tier 10 vehicles and Premium tanks.
What is worse is that the WOT survey that is going around doesn't even let you type in any text to highlight these problems, it only lets you tick some 1-5 boxes that probably won't give Wargaming any meaningful insight into the issues we have with this new system. Honestly, there are so many things wrong here that I think they need to kick this in the bin and think again.
