So I've been playing this for almost 8 years now, off and on. I've never been great at it and there's still a lot to learn, but something about it kept me coming back. I've been playing a lot for the last three months and really getting into it, improving a lot, having fun with the new maps, getting some fun tanks, etc.
What is driving me absolutely crazy is that every 3 matches or so, someone goes "Well this is a loss, good luck idiots I give up" right at the start of the game, and then they and a couple of their equally sadistic buddies sit there at the back and effectively throw the game. I mean, sure, sometimes we can still pull a win, but it's so much harder when our three largest guns are AFK.
What in the world is the point of doing that? You think that some arguably flawed statistics are not in our favor so rather than try to glean some XP or credits, you just give up completely and ensure that your loss is going to hurt worse?
If you really think that the entire outcome of the game depends entirely on who is placed in the match with you, then what in the world is the point of playing? What do you even get out of it?
I realize I'm taking this way too personally, and part of it is because I'm just not in a good place to deal with idiots right now, but it's just been happening so consistently the last few weeks that I'm getting burned out of it all.
So why do I care? Because it's a fun, stupid, weird little community of nerds that I've had a lot of fun playing with, and it sucks to think the fun might be being ruined by people who are just… idk, using it to get their slot machine fix or something.
We all have so much to deal with IRL, especially this year, why do we have to drag that crap into our escape world?
