Hello, this is just a small idea me and my friends had to make the Germans more viable in today's WoT.
Also I'm not entirely sure if this is the place for this, but you know.
This is mainly based off of the gun calibres they have and relative armour as most of the meta relies on either Hull-Down Heavies and/or Alpha damage.
So, we moved some of the tanks around, if some are missing it's because I either forgot them or couldn't place them (mostly low tiers) so just imagine they are there like in the current game.
TL;DR Move heavies and Jp E 100 lines down one tier from tier V up with exceptions. Remove unhistorical top guns which make them the current tier. Place in tanks in between with better armour profiles and possibilities.
Right so let's start with the heavies, the VK. 36. 01 H can keep it's 8,8cm but alpha could be nerfed, same with speed so it's more like a German KV-1. The Tiger I can become more historical with the removal of the long 8,8 and this formula has been proven to make a decent vehicle as seen by the premium Tigers, in an ideal world it would be slightly better than them.
Next the same goes for the Tiger II, it can lose it's 10,5cm and become a tech tree King Tiger which is definitely a good tank, as at Tier VII the armour actually works. Then, the Tier VIII replacement. This would be the Tiger II 10,5cm. Maybe another name could be chosen by WG however the tank in real life would've been larger than the Tiger II to fit the 10,5cm, again bringing more historical accuracy.
Furthermore it never had specified armour values, meaning it can have the same armour layout as the Tiger II in shape, however be thicker to fit Tier VIII, as well as featuring 360 alpha on the 10,5 to better fit with the high alpha tree this leads into. The next two can stay the same, however E 100 could be buffed a little bit 😉
The Porsche line can have the same treatment, the Tiger P can still have the same disadvantages of DPM to the Tiger I, however the armour of 200mm would feel great, it still features the shoulder plates and cupola which Tier Vs can regularly pen even with standard rounds. The VK A would lose it's top turret and gain a new stock one, as well a general nerfs to fit Tier VII, as well as potentially losing the 10,5. The VK B would lose the 12,8 but keep most armour to keep to sidescraping. This would allow it to have decent DPM and decent armour but keeping weakspots such as cupola. It would lead into the Maus again with the extra step of the Mauschen.
A new Krupp line would be made, at tier VIII the VK.70 01 K would be a Lowe with fully re-searchable options, which is lead into by the Tiger II as it was in a way in real life. Tier IX would have the Schwerer Lowe, aka "Heavy Lowe". It would primarily have 10,5 > 12,8 and a > 15cm option, the last of which would have bad gun handling and lower than normal alpha for a 15cm. It would be a better armoured line compared to the E 100 line, however feature worse gun handling. It would lead into the Pz VII which was the Leichte Lowe in real life ( Light Lowe ) but that's what wargaming did with it. Maybe it could have the 15cm option from the tier IX that behaves better, as well as making it compete with the Obj. 705A.
The TDs would fit the Jag Pz E 100 line better by having working armour if dropped a tier, as well as becoming more historically accurate. StuG III G loses the long 7,5. FlatPanzer becomes the new StuG with slightly more armour but loses the 8,8. Jagdpanther loses the ugly 10,5, Ferdinand only gets 8,8cm options and Jagtiger could get the 8,8 as a stock gun, raising to it's current stock 12,8cm.
A new Jg.Pz E 75 would be created, it would look like a Jagdtiger on a E 75 Hull, and would have the current Jagtiger gun options with an extra 15cm option to better upscale alpha damage to the Jg.Pz E 100. They would all of course have worse gun handling to their Waffentrager counterparts.
Finally the E 50M line. This would include the Tier VI to be renamed and re modelled slightly but stats would stay the same. This would be the Panther G. at Tier VII the Panther F would be practically identical to the current Panther however it could feature a 8,8cm gun option, like the Panther 8,8cm but at tier VII. The Panther II could receive general buffs, maybe a 10,5cm option? Whilst the rest stays the exact same.
