So how important is having 445m viewrange anyways?

So we all know that 445m is the maximum possible distance that a tank can spot another tank, with any viewrange above 445m merely factoring into calculations for camo values. But what practical effect does having 445m have in the actual game, and why do people recommend having 445m view range for scouts?

Now with equipment 2.0 out, there are a number of new equipment options for spotters and TDs that are more appealing than the standard optics + vents combo to help reach 445m. This has led me to consider several new equipment combos that won't permit a tank to reach 445m.

Considering that camo values are also highly variable in game, and less predictable now that the concealment module and Commander's Vision System cause spotters to have unpredictable camo and spotting abilities, and having that benchmark seems far less reliable.

So what's the benefit over something like 440m view range? How much lower can a light or medium tank afford to go to justify replacing an optics or vents in their equipment slot for something else?
