So umm basically the game is a really bad state and we all can see it. Too many new players are reaching the high tiers too quickly and this causes "turbo games" which I can fairly confidently say annoys everyone collectively.
These newer players camp and don't want to lose HP so this turns every game into a failure as HP is there to be lost; additionally there has been a spike in mind-numbingly bad situational awareness.
So although many people will disagree with me and I have no problem with that, I'm just trying to raise the problem so we can find a solution that collectively can help the community and not WeeGees bank account.
I know many of the new players will be on this sub so here is some of my tips for them; you many disagree with these tips but this is what has helped be become who I am as a player today:
- HP is a currency to be spend and to be used effectivly don't piss it away in the start of the game, this does not mean camp just play more cautiously, in the mid game you can trade and use that HP. In the end game if you have used your HP well you will be able to take damage and get some more damage in so thus a higher score.
- when trading always trade positively, like for instance: you are fighting with an E5 and you're in a 140. He has a 7 second reload and you have a 5 second reload so make sure you shoot him twice for every time he shoots you so he will deal 400 and you will deal 640.
- Credits. A currency which we all need, I find to earn the most credits you don't need tens of Tier 8 prems, in fact only one is required. Just find one (or maybe two if you want) that you know are good ones with high credit income, for instance my favourite is the scorpion G. Make sure you learn everything there is to know about this tank so you are able to get the most out of it and more importantly learn how to play it well to maximise stats and credit income.
- Don't be afraid to use lots of Gold ammo especially in tiers 9&10, many will argue that it is not sustainable to but it is; do massive credit grinding sessions where you rack up millions again it may seem hard but it is doable. When you get better this will become easier.
- use food on every tank because it literally makes you tank 10% better and buy them in bulk on discount as this makes them half price.
- Situational awareness. This is one of the most important aspects of gameplay and one you must master. Make sure you use the mini-map as it is one of the most important tools to victory and the most damage, check your teammates HP and you enemy's this can allow you to know when you can push and not, additionally check the positions of team mates and enemies and use it to your advantage. Like if the enemy is pushing the other flank you need to know so you can react to it by either pushing your flank quickly or either falling back to cover the other flank. I see it time and time again where people don't realise when the other flank has fallen and then bam the enemy is in your ass and you're all dead.
- Don't rely on your team as World of tanks is a 1vs29, you have to start manging the game by yourself and don't just say "oh the team will deal with that" as most often they won't.
- Go for damage. Many will think that all Unicums care about is WN8 which is not true especially when entering top clans or judging players performance. Like if you are doing 3k average damage in a tier 10 tank that is good and you will have a much higher chance of getting into a good clan so if you are below that aim for 3k raw damage every game. We also judge how good you are by your tier 10 average raw damage although WR does come into the mix the t10 average raw damage is the main state to aim for to be seen as a good player.
Those are some of my tips and you are free to disagree with me just don't be toxic. If you want to get better use those tips but they won't make you a Unicum overnight so I suggest watching on twitch and YouTube:
Kajzoo
Dakillzor
Yzn3
Xaneleon
They are all awesome people who are very knowledgeable about the game and also are making content on how to get better and most will be happy to answer you questions.
Now this is a personal opinion but one I strongly suggest you take onboard; Don't watch Quickybaby he is only out there to make money and his tips and advice is useless now don't go and hate on him, I've met him irl and he is a nice guy but his content is very bad so please don't watch him if you want to get better at this game.
