What’s the point of superheavies anymore.

So I've had the Mauschen for about 100 battles now, and I just think that the whole concept of the superheavy doesn't work in this game anymore.
With the introduction of so many fast heavies and armoured mediums, the flank that I trundle to is won or lost before I get there. This means I either get 1 shot in and then continue to play driving sim. Or get there too late and am just free damage for the already advancing enemies.
Also, I'm not sure if this is just a problem with this tank but the armour just doesn't seem to hold up for that long. Aside from the ridiculous weakpoint on this tank, I've had lower tier tanks go through my cheeks with standard ammo but most just load premium which just shreds the armour.
So I'm just wondering if people agree or if people have advice because I really don't see why I should bother finishing this grind where I could just go and start for something like the 5A.
