A mentality + improvement “guide” for newer players or players that just can’t seem to get into the game

Tarkov is a tough game, both in trying to survive and also in trying to not smash your monitor because you spawned in with your expensive gear and got instantly killed by a scav

But this game can get to be actually pretty fun even if there are some hiccups once in a while, and I wanted to list what made me finally enjoy the game

Mentality:

1: This game is unforgiving, so you need to start cultivating a more positive mentality towards your deaths and be more determined to getting better, so whenever you die it's a good thing to try to compliment your target and try to analyze what made you die, and avoid as much as possible to rage, basically you want to turn every death from something extremely irritating to a learning experience

2: I've seen multiple people in this sub saying a phrase that goes something like "Your gear isn't yours, it's just your turn to use it" and this is what I believe is a pretty damn good mentality to have it won't make you stop fearing for losing gear just because you think about it, but it will make you less pissed off for dying and you can always think "Well my turn is gone but atleast someone will be able to enjoy it or sell it"

Mentality TLDR: Be positive whenever you die, compliment your foes and analyze your death, be positive of losing gear by thinking someone else will enjoy it and that you technically gave someone happiness for dying

Actual gameplay:

1: Practice your skills by going into factory and using semi automatic weapons or pistols without any armor, and going for headshots only (including PMC's but it's more lenient there) I started out this wipe by doing this after I saw a Veritas video that recommended this and honestly it just made the game more fun for me, it's perfect for tons of reason, it will help your in-game anxiety and make you less jittery, you'll probably also get better at deciding when to walk or when to sprint (as you learn how much info you're giving away) but what it will definitely help you to do is get much better aim and a new found love for semi automatic weapons, an important step in this is to literally not care about gear, just come to factory and try to pick fights win or lose, you'll eventually improve especially as you get a feel for using scav weapons you pick up. Another important thing is that it's ok if you spend a really long time doing this, personally I spent until level 12 just playing factory with the TT pistoll

2: Learn what the best common money per slot items are so even if you die you can usually recoup some losses, or if you don't die you end up coming out with a crap ton of money, it will probably take some time until you learn what items are good and what items aren't but it's an invaluable skill to have

Gameplay TLDR; Go to factory pistol or semi auto weapons, headshots only, and try to pick fights and learn how to win. Experiment with different weapons (like scav drops or pmcs you kill) and don't be afraid to do it for a long time Learn what the most valuable common items are so you can make money more easily

So yea that's my list of what really made the game enjoyable, it's all about accepting risk and learning to be strong, which honestly are probably lessons that work in real life as well so feel free to discuss on this or add to it
