I'm a new player myself so I wanted to extend a helping hand to all of the fellow people who got brought in recently.
This is a list of all the docs I use while playing, usually keep them on a second monitor but it's also easy to tab into as long as you're in safety.

Things I like to keep open while playing
IMO: Shoreline has been the most beginner friendly, especially if you're playing solo like I am. It's big so the chances of running into another player are low if you stay on the outskirts and loot the boxes closest to there. I've also found a lot of barter items looting Barge Pier and Scav Island. Scav Island specifically has a weapon box in the house, a wooden crate right outside of the house, one wooden crate with a buried hidden cache right next to it, and two sports bags in a box. Pier has two cash registers, three filing cabinets (12 drawers total, open them all one by one), two safes, two CPUs (usually have hard drives, wires, cords, but will sometimes have CPU fans). Car trunks also contain items sometimes, I've found some Salewas and cheese in there.

Edit:
I also didn't realize in my first few games that when you play as a scav, AI scavs won't shoot at you. I always got spooked and shot at whatever scav talked.
Scav AI when you are a PMC (from what I've noticed) is similar to some open world games. I've been seen a few times by scavs and I've gone to a different position and they generally come to investigate where they saw you last.
