At any given time there's a post about gas analyzers or USB flash drives or some other item in the game blocking you from progressing.
Check the scav's pockets and bags.
I have so far found:
- 20k roubles, wallet with keycard inside (on the same scav)
- FIR Opthalmoscope (scav missing weapon and armor, but pockets not checked)
- Flash drives (more than one, given to my friends)
- Rare weapon attachments (SAKER supressors, scopes, etc)
- Other rare stuff such as Ratchet wrenches and Bulbex
…and probably more I'm forgetting, simply because I search pockets and a bag (if he has one) on every dead scav I come across. Even if the scav was dead before you got there (swear it wasn't me, officer!), go through their pockets. Even if they're apparently picked clean, go through their pockets. And bags.
(I have not been finding rare stuff in their chest rigs/armored rigs at all, you can skip those)
