Eternity RPG – where Web2 meets Web3

This is one of those moments where I feel like I'm sharing a gem, I'm not affiliated in any ways to Eternity and I'm just sharing my thoughts as a player.

I've been playing since early development which started in 2021, a year where NFT games would pop out of the ground like mushrooms. Now this one isn't like any other NFT game I've experienced. The feeling of not being pushed but rather being guided to use the blockchain optionally has been a breath of fresh air to me.

Over those 2 years of development the game has flourished from a Web3 game to a multi-platform app with it's release on the App- and Play Store last week.

It has been bothering me for years that almost all Web3 games are in it for a quick buck.Well, Eternity pushes good UX and satisfying gameplay over an earning model like most NFT games out there and that made me rethink the possibilities of actual decent Web3 implementations.

If you want your ideas to be implemented, the developers are open to any idea from any community member. Here's a short list of some implementations provided by the community, fleshed out by the developers of Eternity:

Crafting: If you're one of those loot-freaks like me you're in for a ride. I love how ARPGS like borderlands and Diablo can drop you items with thousands of optional stat rolls, the situation isn't different here. Not satisfied with your drops? Dismantle them and craft the item you want. These items can be optionally synced to the blockchain if you want full control over your item.

Multiplayer: I never like to play solo, especially in RPG's. I feel like the developers have crafted a beautiful co-op system where you can party up to 4 to grind the dark tower's floors, where each players gets their turn to drop their hero's skills on enemies.

Questing: At launch it used to be a quite mindless grinding mobs type of game, but over those 2 years your heroes actually have gotten lore and the quests feel like they matter to Eternity's storytelling.

If you're in for a long lasting addiction battling monsters in a turn-based fantasy world I kindly invite you over to give it a try since it's free to play where it's optional to purchase a hero.

I will not share a direct link to the website since I don't want to sound spammy so here's their latest gameplay trailer
