Say you're like me. Really, REALLY crappy with the neutralizer. Always mess up the timing, doesn't work and you're dead in space.
Found something out today that may just help you avoid being wrecked while you're shut down.
When you hear "energy surge detected"…Pop a heatsink. Bugs don't shoot what they don't see. You still get shut down of course but it's like they go blind when you're cold. You come out of it with your shields up and your hull hopefully intact.
Edit. Many, MANY THANKS to the people who helped out with field neutralizer tips. They work! Tried them today defending a station and just kept right on shooting.
