With the upcoming release of Update 14 and the split between Legacy and Live, many console players' carriers will be copied over to Live, seeing as all carriers have always been cross platform, but will ultimately remain completely unusable.
Since hardly any one of us can know for sure that the developers will be doing or are even capable of doing anything about this issue, there's still something that we the playerbase, more specifically those of us that have a console account, are capable of doing in order to mitigate the issue.
All of these options I'm listing below would not have to become permanent! Once the splitting of the versions has been done, which is most likely gonna happen during server downtime next Tuesday the 29th of November, you will be able to revert any of the following you may have taken, seeing as no action done in either one of the version of the game, Legacy or Live, will have any effects on the other.
1) Move your carrier out of high player traffic systems, then move it back after the split is done.
2) Move all of the credits in your carrier balance to your personal wallet, then put them back once the split is done.
3) Start the decommissioning process, then cancel it after the split is done.
A combination of the three will create even better results, and will ultimately help out fellow commanders in whichever other version of the game and thus the playerbase as a whole.
As an additional note, these simple actions could also be done by Live players to avoid the same clutter of unmovable and unusable carriers in the Legacy version of the game.
Finally, a friendly reminder for our Console commanders that wish to join the PC portion of the playerbase, that the Console-to-PC Account Transfer Portal will be temporarily closing on the same day of the release of U14 (next Tuesday the 29th of November) and will reopen at FDev's notice next year.
If you are a carrier owner, unfortunately there is not enough time for decommissioning the carrier before U14, so either you will have to transfer now and lose out on 5 billion credits, since carriers are not copied during the transfer, or wait next year for the Portal to come back online.
