We have updated rule 3 to the following: Racism, homophobia, any discrimination based on gender, race, sexuality or nationality and any use of slurs will result in you being permanently banned with no warning"
The volume of hatespeech, derogatory term use, and discriminatory comments has increased to the point that we need to take these actions. We have always levied bans foe these reasons with increasing levels of impact (24 hours, 3day, 7 day, 14 day, perma) but many of offenses are repeat and repeat within short periods from prior warning or bans.
If someone's main contribution right off the bat is a slur-laden post, we see no real reason to give warnings. What is there to warn about?
We have loosened many of the rules based on feedback and it has made the sub better, no doubt. However, hate speech is one aspect that we will not compromise on.
Tarkov's a brutal game, and we all have enjoyed its merciless beatings as we head into Customs for one more raid. But the internet itself, and the communities we are part of, do not have to be cesspools of hostility where people feel unsafe or welcome. Everyone behind the keyboard is a real person, and we frankly do not wish to cultivate a community where it might feel acceptable to be hateful and toxic towards others.
Be excellent to each other and demand nothing less from others towards yourself.
