So as with any major military power, there comes a time where re-evaluations and re-assessments are to be made, and refit the common infantry fighter to meet the modern combat age. Some examples of this would be the Land Warrior Program, Russian Ratnik, and the new US Army NGSW program.
So what does this mean? You need to devise a complete loadout that meets the stated requirements and budget at maximum efficiency. It must be as cheap as possible and as effective as possible in the given constraints. It must perform at range, in close quarters, stand up against body armor, and protect the individual in a reasonable price range. It must fit the common raid warrior within reason.
The rules for the GPRW program are as follows:
- The entire loadout MUST NOT EXCEED β½300,000 (Secured Container items not included)
- MUST NOT EXCEED 25kg
- MUST include AT LEAST 3 total magazines (no size restriction)
- MUST reliably defeat level 3 and 4 body armor (no more than 5 shots to defeat – 25+ pen).
- MUST HAVE ranged capabilities (at least one zoom option greater than 1x).
- Primary weapon MUST include a tactical device.
- MUST include a helmet and body armor of any kind.
These are your constraints. How you achieve these requirements is up to you.
Submission Format:
Comments will ONLY be considered if they are posted with bullet-pointed items. This is for ease of reading and organization. An image or video of the loadout can also be provided.
Here is an example of a submission:
- AK-74M
- B10-M Handguard
- B-33 Dust Cover
- Zenit DTK-1 Compensator
- SpecterDR
- 3x 10-Round Magazines (5.45 PPBS)
- Ultrafire WF501B Flashlight
- MP-443 Grach w/ 1x Magazines (9mm RIP )
- Kirasa Body Armor
- 6B47 Ratnik Helmet
- ANA Alpha Rig
- WARTECH Berkut Backpack
- Earmor M32 Headset
- 1x RGD-5
- Total Cost: β½269,420
Notes: The Kirasa is a lightweight armor that provides adequate protection to the user against most common calibers used in the region. This lower level of protection is offset by the powerful PPBS cartridge used in the rifle to reliably defeat even heavily-armored opponents and the kit's overall low weight. An MP-443 sidearm is also issued with high stopping power RIP rounds against unarmored opponents and an RGD-5 hand grenade to flush out enemy PMCs or aggro enemy AI.
Winners:
All loadouts will have their effectiveness evaluated. The winner will be selected and have their named posted here, and maybe your loadout will appear in a content creator's YouTube video or something. If BSG decided to sponsor this post then maybe something cooler? But don't count on it. Kits will be judged based on their price-to-effectiveness ratio.
The contest will end May 13th.
