A beginners introduction to E:D:Odyssey. So frustrating because of unbalanced information

First time playing ED: Odyssey

1. Chamberlain's Rest
2. Picked a mission from someone standing around. Mission said "Threat level 0"
3. Mission was to go to Arapahoma star system. Land on Arapahoma 8. Find Container 4 in section A, and open it with the code 3078. Take the contents back to the person on Chamberlain's Rest who gave the mission. All information said the area was deserted, and threat level 0.
4. On arrival I spent 40 minutes trying to land at Arapahoma 8. After 40 minutes it started landing automatically. It landed 400 metres away.
5. I run to the base. But there is security everywhere. One of the guards starts scanning me. When I scan the guard back they pull a rifle. I run away and avoid them firing at me.
6. The information terminal shows that container 4 is inside the base. But none of the doors will open. I spend 15 minutes trying to equip the ARC welder like in the training session to maybe cut open the red squares by the doors. After 15 minutes I realize I only have a flightsuit and no ARC welder. I have no idea how to get to container 4 which is 4 metres away but inside.
7. As I am standing by another revolving door, suddenly it opens as an engineer walks out. I run inside as the door is open.
8. I am unfortunately not in the right building that container 4 is in. I wander around and pick up a medkit. I see some lockers. I open the lockers, there is stuff inside. I pick up some component (thinking this is like other games where you pick things up when prompted).
9. Suddenly people start firing at me inside the lab, because I picked something up.
10. I run out and all the guards outside start firing at me.
11. I run to the ship, out of oxygen almost. They run behind me firing at me.
12. I spend 6 minutes trying to find out how to lift off from the surface of a planet.
13. I cancel the mission and incur a fine and go back to Chamberlains's Rest.

It said threat level 0, which was wrong. It also failed to mention I needed an ARC welder (Maverick suit) to enter buildings.

Is there anyplace or video that actually explains the basics of this game to absolute beginners?
