Hello CMDRS
I have been playing ED for quite a while now, with more than 500 hours of playtime so far. I have about a dozen ships, but I realized I only use my medium and big ships. I have all big ships. The only small ship I use is the Imperial Courier for Odyssey missions, as it is so fast and has a very good jump range. And it looks gorgeous.
Do you keep using small ships for more than Odyssey missions when you are a veteran with access to all medium/big ships? If you are, what are you doing with them? Can you keep using small ships for combat? Isn't it really making your life difficult if you can use a Corvette for PvE combat for example?
I am asking this because there are so many small ships that I haven't even tried once, and I wonder, would it be just a waste of money and engineering materials to use them? Can you for example do bounty hunting in a high or hazardous res zone in a small ship efficiently? I still hope I can use these ships later, as Frontier does not really release ships very often (and that's an understatement), I would like to think that all of them can be used, even if you're not a starting player. And many small ships look really good!
So, do you keep flying small ships regularly?
