It’s no surprise that as a primary attribute, agility is awesome as attack + attack speed compounds well, and agility attribute growth regardless of primary is welcome, but the big offender here is agility attribute items. Raw stat items almost always have better value in vacuum due to attributes having additional interactions, but with agility it is extremely glaring.
Let’s look at ogre ax- club vs vit booster.
Ogre Club: 200 hp; 1000g
Vit Booster: 250 hp; 1000g
Value difference: pretty good
Here Ogre club offers a respectable amount of health compared to its raw stat counterpart, it’s hard to go wrong with this regardless of your primary attribute
Next we have int:
Staff o’ wizardry: 120 mana; 1000g
Soul Booster: 200 mana; 800g
Value difference: OK
Mana item costs are more skewed to raw stats then HP, but save for certain int heroes, mana pool size starts to get redundant at some point anyways
Here’s where it gets bad. Blade of Alacrity has several comparable items, all of which blow it out of the water:
BoL: 10 attack speed, roughly 1.6 armor; 1000g
Gloves + Chainmail: 20 attack speed, 4 armor; 1000g
Blitz Knuckles: 35 attack speed; 1000g
Plate mail: 10 armor: 1400g
Value diff: Appalling
I mean really, do you every like buying the blade of alacrity for scepter on non- agi heroes? It might as well just be a recipe. And remember when e-blade used to have an eagle song? Nobody that uses e-blade except morph and MAYBE venomancer thought “oh boy! I just can’t wait to farm up that eagle song!”
What I wonder is if there is feasibly a way to buff agi items, but only for non-agi heroes as buffing agi items for all would push agi heroes through the roof
