TLDR:
If there will not be Ship Interiors by December 2023.
Elite will actually die by ~ May 2024.
And I assure you, unless you find Oil, you will NOT make more Net-$ of anything else in comparison!
I mean seriously … We can walk around almost everywhere but NOT on our ships.
How. Dumb. Is. That. If we were exclusively flying fighters that would be ok.
We are not though … we are flying ships … some of them close to 200m.
Others … literally being passenger liners XD
The entire Space Legs concept was never, not even remotely, considered by ANYONE of this community without Ship Interiors as a given. It’s like a house without a roof.
(And by the way, personally, I was always against Space Legs in general, would have much rather seen ‘actual’ atmospheric landings even if very restricted on populated planets.)
BUT now they are here and they CANNOT remain the way they are!
At the moment they are a detriment where they should have been an elevation.
… We do not need Fleet-Carrier Interiors for every Sidewinder to be said Ship Interiors.
All we need is a few rooms to port inside via the corridors/lifts (similar to the hangar).
Even one single room would already be sufficient for the T1-Ships.
Give us something to use the tools on, something to repair. E.g. the Power Plant to 100%.
And maybe one way to look out of some kind of window (I imagine that to be the hardest part).
That’s it.
That’s literally it.
THAT ALONE CAN SAVE ELITE!
Less can be more!
It really doesn’t need to be that behemoth of work that some members of the community fear so much as to actually argue against Ship Interiors.
Now granted, if you were to release at least ~10 more ships, 20 new weapons and maybe revive the Guardians … yeah … that could also save Elite.
But to anyone that argues that THAT would really be the more “work-efficient” approach …
I can only recommend you never to work in any kind of Project-Management.
Obviously, like any sensable company, money is your goal.
You could still INCEASE PROFITS of ED so SIGNIFICANTLY with the addition of such a relatively simple feature. You see, I never bought Odyssey. Many potential customers haven't.
Ship Interiors would be like a soothing cold paste onto that burning sore.
The thing is, Odyssey has f-ed up so bad that a lot of the community has already abandoned hope.
You hear the first voices actually asking for something akin to Elite 2.
(Or 5, depending on how you look at it). But THAT is 100% not yet needed.
Yes, Elite is not the youngest anymore, and it most certainyl has seen better times.
But it is NOT TOO LATE!
The fact that every major competitor of ED continues to be the inferior product (Yes, even NMS) is a gift from the heavens! One you should not waste!
You constantly hinted at Odyssey to be a set of tools, a fundament to build on.
PLEASE LET THAT NOT BE A FALSE HOPE!
RELEASE SHIP INTERIORS!
SAVE ELITE!
