Can’t get a kill unless I get lucky

That’s pretty much it. Every time I get into a fight, I’m either too slow to react, or I can’t see the enemies at all on my monitor, or I can’t tell where I’m being shot from. It’s my first wipe and I haven’t really played any similar game before, I know it’s a difficult game and takes a while getting used to and I’m not giving up. But does anyone else feel like this?

It feels like unless I’m gone on a long flank and catch the enemies off guard, I can never actually hit them. Hell most of the time I can’t even see them, everything is just so blurry and dark I can’t make out where they are. I die before I even realise what I’m looking at. My reaction time isn’t generally bad, so what is it? Is there anything I can do to change this other than get 5k hours on this game? Even my other friends who are playing first wipe are annihilating people and I can’t even get a kill with good gear in a 1v1.
