So I took a look at the SK decks from the Qualifier Top 16 –
Obviously most had spurned the Discard package in favour of other means of getting consistency and thinning. I wanted to ask about whether there is a trend of differences between "Meta decks" used in ladder vs. decks used in competition.
I noticed cards like Knickers and other offbeat consistency tools being used in this deck which made me question whether competitive players often use lists that were optimised for short run efficiency, IE they were using decks with lower potential values but a higher level of draw consistency as a means of improving their chances of winning.
I felt like a lot of the decks would have been marked as unoptimised for the use of the tools as being too conservative and diluting the strength of the decks, as they likely would be weaker over the course of the season as opposed to a tournament.
Is this typical of comp decks, do these players usually add extra consistency tools like Fisher King and Knickers for comp games or do they play these decks on the ladder for MR climbing too?
