Creatures: Thoughts, issues, and ideas

This is going to be a list for nearly everything this update, I have thought long and hard about it and I wanted to give genuine criticism AND ideas To help with making the game better instead of this feature just being added and discarded like a certain drift board.

So thoughts so far for this update? I love it! Having creatures be a part of save the world makes the game a lot more fresh and interesting, Adding consumables, and even adding new ways to get loot is really good!

Issues though:

Pathfinding, glitching through objects, and animals dealing with hordes of husks.

Pathfinding for the tamed animals has been A bit weird as they always seem to follow the player but they do want to wander around, but they strictly have to follow the player. I think to fix this they should be able to wander in a general area around the player and teleport to the player if they are being attacked, Much like guards.

Glitching though objects/floors. I can understand this happening a little bit because husks tend to do it as well, but it happens mostly 50% of the time especially whenever it comes to ramps and walls, they just pop right through them like it’s nothing. Whenever I’m trying to do a atlas mission I do the classic pyramid and they just pop right through it.

And dealing with husks… Yeah wolves being surrounded by a bunch of husks literally just stand there are sometimes, inevitably dying in the end. Sometimes Velociraptor seem to deal with it just fine but boars? They don’t attack anything. And they should because they do attack players.

So ideas on how to improve creatures altogether with new features? Well for one marking an enemy should have your creature prioritize strictly on them. Mark a Miniboss? Your creature will help you take it down alongside of you! Enemy too far away? Send a creature to take it down. Once the enemy is down the mark will go away, But it should only follow the owners marker. Not other players.

Spawn rates, They have been a bit crazy with the spawns of them all, almost 50% of the time creatures will either be fighting themselves or husks near you, I say after the storyline event with decrease the spawn rate a little bit.

Keep consumables! I think it would be awesome to be able to keep meat, mushrooms, and corn, Every single time you change matches, you lose them, And as someone who accidentally walks into a mushroom that was picked up recently instead I was trying to get the piece of meat from the boar I eliminated, I think it would fix that issue and being able to slut different consumables and look at them in the menus is a fun idea.

Regardless though I love to hear others opinions, And I do hope that some of the major bugs with the animals could get looked at, thanks!
