Dear Valve: the smurfing problem

So, genuine question. Did something change in matchmaking in the past 6-8 months or so?

The stack I play with was basically only doing aghanim's and turbo during the last battle pass, and we had an absolute blast. Then the BP ended, and so back to ranked we go. We're not the greatest players, we were probably in the 2.5k-4k range, but we did decently in those ranks, hovering around a pretty stable 50% winrate for years. I'm sure the same applies for other ranks as well, though.

But ever since we got back to ranked, our winrate (and MMR) has absolutely TANKED. It has felt like we're facing a smurf literally every other game, AT LEAST. Tonight alone, we faced two arc wardens who absolutely demolished us from minute 1 (one of whom might've been a scripter, too). Even if we have a 50% winrate in the remaining games, that's not exactly great.

It used to be that we lost sometimes, we got stomped sometimes, but we won sometimes, and we stomped sometimes. I genuinely don't mind losing a nice game, but now, the game just feels like shit. Every game, we check our enemies' profiles, and I can't even begin to express the number of aegis snatches and rampages we're seeing on sub-level-40 accounts.

We've played together for years, but the experience lately has really been killing it for us. Every night we play just ends in depressed discussion of how we got smurfed yet again, and how our enjoyment of the game is dwindling. We're all working adults (you know, the people who can drop a cool bit of disposable income on battle passes when they come around), and we'd like to play a couple of games of dota in the evenings, but… Yep, they have a sniper with 3 rampages and an aegis snatch in the past week with a level 38 profile! And an 80+ percent winrate on like 7 different core heroes. And they're in a 5 stack with some genuinely bad players.

They're also ALWAYS just straight up assholes about it. The arc warden in our last game felt it was cool to remind us we can gg out at 30 minutes.

I'd like to git gud, but come on, we didn't suddenly become that much worse at the game. Valve, please, PLEASE. I'd really love to enjoy the game again. Is it really that hard to detect this bullshit, and invalidate the game for everyone involved, and hand out bans where necessary?
