Dota 2 has been awesome for me as a beginner

I saw the post of someone that has had issues with the being a newbie and it motivated me to share my perspective which is the polar opposite. I've never seen people on an online game so welcoming and willing to help than on Dota 2. I had actually play Dota 2 before in 2016, I even bought the terrain on the battle pass for some reason, but I didn't really got into it. Maybe played a couple bot games and like 10 unranked games max. And I started playing again now with TI.

Every time during draft the first thing I say is "hey guys, new player" and people are just cool with it, often suggesting heroes of just asking what I'm comfortable with. The only time I've ever been "flamed" during game was me playing Axe going all over the place during team fights like a headless chicken not knowing what to do and the very moment someone complained 3 people on my team just told them "dude they're new, they said on draft chill".

When a teammate asked me to buy Blink Dagger and I was honest and said "dude I can't use that item, I can barely use my spells and remember to click on a tree to use Tango" and he just laughed and suggested the Shadowblade as an easier to manage alternative.

If someone asks me to do something and I say I don't know what it is, they very patiently explain it to me briefly and give me some pointers on what to google after the game. Multiple people have tried more and less coach me in lane on what to do, where to go, etc. Always super patient and friendly.

There have been times where my team has complained about the fact that matchmaking put me in their games but they were very polite about it, saying it's a problem with the matchmaking of the game not me.

All this ofc was on unranked games. I've never played ranked and I don't intend to, I like to have fun when I play videogames.
