So people long ago complained about how it was a grind to get around. Not enough jump range, not enough weapon diversity. So then engineers came along. Then people complained that engineers kill PVP. Engineers are OP. So they tried to adjust it and everyone blew a fuse because it would mean sacrifice the mods they had. Thus the only solution was a grind without ripping the lollipop out of the babies hands. So grind it is because you can't do anything else without dividing the community anymore. So why are we surprised they went ahead with a grind for Odyssey? It didn't surprise me at all. I've seen what people say over the years repeated over and over just a few years later. The irony of it makes me laugh. People demanded FPS and now it's here and they can't stand it. It's like I've stepped into a time warp. I would be happy if they supplied a suit for us to get out of ship and walk around. That's it. No weird combat or weapons. The ability to get out and walk around would have been just fine. Those with high expectations wanted more than that in a game that is not an FPS. It's a simulation game. Not a shooter. So it is what it is. I'm positive people will continue to complain about what they asked for and perhaps eventually we will come to some sort of half ass middle ground in its game play. The FPS should be an aspect of the game you don't need to do at all if you choose. Just like engineering. If you don't like to grind. Don't. They are not forcing you to participate and it should remain that way. If you want to have a longer jump range well. You have to grind. That is more realistic than it just being handed to you. The problem is everyone has there own opinions on what elite should be and that is an impossible task for any dev.
