TL;DR looking for shield or shieldless ideas for an Anaconda doing PvE and possibly AX ops
So I've been playing for a few months, bouncing around between exploration, mining, and bounties. I've ranked up to CPO in the Fed by killing pirates, I have only done 1 or 2 AX related events (evacs).
I got my shit pushed in doing the last evac because it was an Asp Explorer with standard shields. I've read about AX and how a lot of their attacks phase through shields.
So now that I got my Anaconda I am looking to take on tougher bounties and join the AX fight.
Is there a certain shield that works well for PvE and AX operations? Or is it better to go shieldless and use special hull reinforcement?
As a novice I just took on a dangerous pirate and collected that bounty. My shields went down super quick but all the hull reinforcements kept me from going below 75% damage. So it seems like a reasonable idea to go shieldless, especially if it means more power for weapons.
