I started playing PUBG in June of 2017 and instantly fell in love with it because of the constant adrenaline rushes or those mmmm sweet hits of dopamine anytime I would win an intense firefight or secure a chicken dinner. With time, of course, the dopamine highs started fading and I was left with different aspects of the game to mainly focus on and enjoy, like the collecting of items to get my favorite setups on guns or the more realistic shooting this game seemed to have over its counterparts.
When I first heard of Tarkov, I knew I would enjoy it as it seemed to promise more of what I loved about PUBG but baked to a nice golden-brown. More constant fighting, different and more realistic environments to explore, immensely greater and more in-depth customization of weapons, more dopamine rewards due to more inherent risks, and it didn't just feel like a running simulator.
I feel like PUBG was the stepping stone for many of my friends into this game, curious with the general Tarkovian population's experience with that faded-into-obscurity game.
