I am about to embark on a journey around the galaxy. Need advice.

So like many folks I just got a fleet carrier. I intend to use it as a mobile command center as I strike out across the black and see what's out there.

what I have: a fleet carrier, an anaconda kitted for laser mining, a python kitten for deep core mining, an asp kitted for long range solo exploration with two srv's. and a FDL that im sure wont come in too handy out there.

Questions:

  1. tritium. I plan to try and fill my cargo holds to the brim with it before I leave. that being said. currently almost every single station that sells tritium has fleet carriers buzzing around trying to do the same thing and the last three I went to were empty even though they said they were full on eddb. I figure sooner or later I will have to learn how to get my own tritium out there in the black and may as well start now. How do I get it? What is the most effective method to obtain tritium at a reasonable pace? currently my type 9 is kitted for trade hauling. I suppose I could swap that over to laser mining/ssd? I hear thats how you get tritium best but welcome advice.
  2. is there anything I should bring that I am not thinking of?
  3. I will need to make money out there in the black. enough to at least offset the cost of running the carrier. I think the only way to do this will be universal cartographic. I have it installed on the carrier. Do you think this will yield enough credits to keep it up? I have billions in the bank so I am not super worried. I just want to think of it as I am at least breaking even out there.
