So i am almost 400 days into my Valhiem journey and just biding time to take on the queen with my lady friend. We've had such an incredible journey though troll hunting and shenanigan's and bringing back ore on an overloaded cart to a boat docked far away cause i didnt wanna leave 10 silver ore behind to running for my life from sea serpents to finally looking for them cause i can take them.
The lady friend did most of the building and we're on making our third new house. I usually do the gathering and the sailing and the exploring while she manages all the food and materials and building comfy awesome looking bases that i occasional help with (and mess up). We tamed 2 pets named Duke and Bob, Duke is a curious wolf boy who is always hungry and bob is a no fucks given living his best life Lox who enjoys chasing dear and mowing over trees and we love them both even though they get into alot of trouble.
I've had an absolute blast exploring this game and every area we came on presented new dangers and challenges. I'm almost fully geared as i can be and we've farmed up tons of great food and could probably go take on the queen right now but i found myself just wanting to be done with the Mistlands. I was excited to get here but when i got about 5 hours into exploring the place i really started to hate it because of the Mists. I understand that this is the expansions theme, but i don't like limiting or taking away the players vision for long amounts of time as it's something i feel should be used sparingly. The mountains snowstorms and fog were not bad cause they were temporary but the mists are ALWAYS there save for the particular parts of the mist lands that aren't covered in mists.
The mistlands are also very beautiful and it seems like it was designed with the feather cape in mind to hover and levitate down giving a feeling of flight but the mists take away from that along with making trying to find anything absolutely awful. Maybe that's the point but it just made me wanna be done with it and didnt give me the same satisfaction i had with all the other areas in the game. I hope they find something a little more fun with the next expansion cause i'm really loving this game. I just hate walking around the mistlands and that's a damn shame.
