with the changes to the flea market combined with inertia this wipe is by far the rattiest wipe I have experienced across 3 wipe cycles- any hardcore veterans feel free to chime in with your own experiences here.
i understand some people play slow, or avoid conflict and simply try to "survive"- we all have been there and i get it. but it would seem that a majority of my interactions this wipe fall into a "he who moves first dies" situation- holding angles, or hiding outside of buildings, or holding down bodies from a shadow from afar all while talking shit from around a corner through VOIP. it does not matter what map i go- from customs, shoreline, even labs the motive is to 3rd party any and all interactions, avoid conflict and hold down from the shadows at all costs.
inertia was a great implementation into the game but instead of jiggle-peaking, now you have spam-leaning which is almost as fast and still does the same thing. i understand that holding angles would be beneficial in almost any combat situation, but its new lean-peek meta combined with the flea market limitations has turned almost everyone into a rat this wipe. even some of my buddys who once used to charge everything and everyone now rat around and wait- you can call it a game of patience but it really just comes down to a lack-luster camp fest for a budget gearset or 2.
i was once the rattiest of the rats, back when time invested actually got you something- reserve loot was ripe and marked room had riches to be attained. now we are ratting over 70k worth of budget gear and a mosin stock from marked room. im not even a PvP rusher, but the level of rattiness and RNG makes coming out geared hardly even worth it anymore. maybe im just not adapting to the pressures of this wipe correctly but right now the game play is really lacking for me almost 2 months into wipe now.
what is the collective thought process on the changes that come with inertia and flea restrictions now?
edit: i appreciate the people giving some thoughtful replies and insights into some of the factors of PvP this wipe. i also do not mean to put down any of the rats or slower players, its just been a seemingly majority of my interactions fall into a rats ballpark, just getting a feel for the land. constructive criticism is the best, i am glad we strayed from the "go play cod" remarks lol. keep the insights coming!
