Just my experience since my break of playing.

witcher triss merigold gwint

As the title says this isn't anything special just sharing some thoughts and my experience since I took a decent break from the game. This is mainly about the annoyance of NG and it's current state it's always had in the game which again ties back to it being one of the most not challenging to play factions but literally just annoying and toxic in its design.

Anyways I've only had two playing sessions since my break and to be honest I actually enjoyed it for the most part and was having fun. Before I took my break I was feeling the complete opposite playing against almost every faction. My first play session I went against mainly monster decks and NR with towards the end NG came into the picture. First NG deck was against Renfri and I could have run if it weren't for the special ability he chose after playing Renfri and it was your typical cheesy spam points, lock all your cards y'all know how it goes. Tbh I barely won round 2 and things looked good round 3 and maybe could have won but didn't care to stick around to find out if I didn't win. 2nd play session was nothing but NG for the first part and more matches of I could have won but the way NG special abilities work they are always able to cheese out the win and idk. It sucked all the fun out I was having until I started only playing against NG. The mill deck is super annoying and cheap, Renfri is cheap but I don't think it's broken. You gotta do what you gotta do not having special cards but when it comes to NG I don't like it because of the choice selection of cards they have and their special ability. Idk guess I'm just here complaining but the moral of the story I just wished less people chose to play such an annoying, cheap cheesy faction compared to all the others. I love it when people play NG and don't use a toxic or cheap deck type but unfortunately that is rare to happen but I appreciate you people that don't follow the herd. My last play session ended in not the greatest way because I kept getting same NG decks to playing against and once vamps and the rest were literally all frost which those are the only two monster decks I refuse to play depending on the deck I'm using so in my mind when being already salty I feel the game just adds to it and doesn't help with creating an enjoyment vibe or the feeling of wanting to try and beat said deck. I got good at making my own decks and refuse to use a deck of mine that's not made by me and I feel the game punishes people that hence why so many use the copy over deck mechanic and why we are always playing against the same deck type. With all this said. I remember why I quit playing all though I miss the days I could enjoy this game for what it was but I no longer can even with taking a break unfortunately. Frost was made to overpowered and cheap to point slam when against homebrewed decks, vamps is just annoying and if played right floats the same boat as frost. NG is just annoying all the way around even when I beat NG it's still annoying. I don't want to be annoyed the whole time I'm playing or have to leave a ton of matches because everyone wants to use frost or vamps and idk but it's made me realize how stale Gwent has gotten for not even changing it up with patches good enough since I last played or the player base switching it up themselves on what decks they use and copy. Nothing changed, nothing's gotten better like I hoped. I did however enjoy the little time I had not playing NG and those other decks I consider to be insanely cheap aka vamps and frost. I'll play one more time just cause after talking about this my mind wants to chase how the game used to make me feel even though I know I'll end up being disappointed but all well. Clocked in over 2300 hours before quitting this game and it took that long for me to get to this point unfortunately.

I didn't make this post to hear about how long my post is as I don't care and if I did I wouldn't have posted this. Not asking for anything from anyone on advice to whatever you'll most likely come up with but if you feel the need to add your 2 cents please do just hopefully it ain't toxic like usual. Please share your thoughts on NG as that's mainly what this is about and the other two monster decks are just sprinkles of salt on sucking the fun out of the game for me but that's a given and isn't the reason this post was made. It's purely about NG sucking the fun out of the game and how most players choose to play that faction and how rarely anyone chooses to not play one of the cheap or toxic deck types. If you disagree or agree on why or why not NG should be re-worked almost completely but not quite let's hear it. Let's not make it toxic and have a simply friendly debate on how we all feel about NG.
