Hey all you here at r/DotA2!
I've been playing LoL since 2017 and it was my first game after a 5 year gaming hiatus.
I haven't liked the direction Riot has been taking League in the last couple years;
> Streamlined customization for champion loadouts (Masteries/Runes)
> Constantly releasing overpowered champions that can do everything.
> They stopped making/releasing other game modes.
> Their client is so goddamn slow and buggy and I'm 99.99% sure that's because it's loaded with Tencent scripts.
> They have removed, are removing, and no longer releasing "monster" champs. Everyone is being streamlined into a cookie-cutter anime champion.
among many, many, many other reasons. I'll stop listing them now just to save this post being a novel.
So now I'm looking at trying out DotA 2 as a replacement.
I have questions and am hoping you all can answer them for me!
1) What are your general thoughts/experiences with people switching from Lol to DotA2?
2) What is inherently different? As such maybe game mechanics that dont exist in league, and vice versa.
3) I fucking LOVE the champion Zed. Is there any hero like him in DotA?
4) How toxic is the community in comparison?
5) How much of my skill from league will transfer?
6) Any general advice? Or good informative channels/streams to go watch?
Thank you!
