Odyssey gripe

Took a scavenge mission….well 4 to be exact. Worked through 3 and cancelled the last because I didn’t have time to keep playing.

Cancel gave me a 50k bounty against me (maybe I’m missing something on where it came from as o didn’t notice until the next day, but the bounty was legit and from the mission faction, and all I did was cancel the mission, clean with no priors beforehand).

Disembark at a port. Ship gets impounded. Have to pay at a shipyard it says. Shuttle to station with a shipyard. No dice. Shuttle to station with interatellar factor. Pay fine. Good.

Shuttle back to station with a shipyard. Still No dice. Go to interAstra to have ship transfered. Goes through the motions but never ships (or charges me, just says ok and closes). Couldn’t switch ships because my current had cargo and wouldn’t let me change or even dump the cargo, which it said it was going to do when i tried to transfer but never transferred. Shuttle back to original system where ship is docked. No dice. Still says pay impound at shipyard.

Back and forth a few times. I knew I could (and eventually did) just go to horizon, but wanted to figure out how to get through this in odyssey. 4hrs of shuttling and my afternoon wasted trying to get my ship back without relogging in horizon….which I finally did, put me back in my ship and resolved my issue….for now.

So the real question – what was I doing wrong? How would I get my ship back in odyssey. How do I pay an impound fine? Like, I get my fix worked but that can’t be the real answer can it?

Just a thought experiment at this point but any thoughts or ideas for the next time it happens to me or someone else? Going to have to rethink taking ody missions for now, especially in bulk. Did a bunch of googling but never found too much for an answer other than log in horizon.
