On the note of flowers, a thank you and a plea.

Hello commanders,

I am the console commander behind the farewell post asking for those who find our ships to leave flowers. I wanted to thank everybody for not only the support I saw in that post, but also the support being shown for all of us who enjoy this game on consoles.

I was honestly expecting this post to be buried or passed over. A lot of us have been feeling absolutely gutted by the news that console development is being canceled.

However the fact that the community has come together like this makes me feel hopeful that we all might be able to get FDev to at least do something about or save data or even find a better solution to the trouble all of us commanders on console are facing.

So this is where my thank you bacomes more of a plea.

Unfortunately working in this industry can be a true labor of love. Devs usually don’t want to leave their games and the amazing communities that surround them to just die, even if it’s on one platform. I am sure little to no one on the team wanted this.

I know sometimes it can feel like we love elite in spite of fdev but it’s because we know what they are capable of and the potential for elite.

So let’s keep that in mind going forward and keep things moving forward with good faith towards the developers and other players of our favorite game.

I know we are all still reeling from this news but let’s not let that emotional turbulence spur the discussions on what to do about it or our communications with the devs.

I haven’t seen anything too horrible in these regards yet, and we should all be striving to keep it that way as more post begin being made about it and we begin to communicate more with the devs.
