Opinion: Ashlands should be a multi-biome

fictional character

I think that considering the Ashlands will not be connected to any other biomes will mean a need for a bit more bio-diversity than we have seen in previous biomes.

A fun part of the other biomes is seeing them mix together at the borders and watching the wildlife interactions (good bit of free farming as well) and I don’t know if we will see that with Ashlands as I believe it is entirely separated by water.

It’s already been said that the biome is going to be a huge super landmass, can’t help but think this either leads way to larger enemy encounters or possibly minibiomes.

For example, the tar pits in the plains almost feel like a sub biome of the plains (and with different plants there it would feel even more unique imo). I think If we get different flavors of Ashlands that would be pretty interesting.

Possibly a volcano area, a scorched flats area, an ashen graveyard area, and maybe just maybe a small oasis style spot with some relief.

What do you think? This isn’t for speculation in any negative sense, I just wonder what they will do to take advantage of the much larger biome space.
