Played after a long break and here are my thoughts.

witcher gwent cards

I took a much needed break from Gwent not necessarily because of the devs choices in nerfs or buffs but that played a huge part in it. I think the move they chose to do with yrden was absolutely the worst move CDPR could have ever done. I only say this because of the decks I was constantly playing against which were not only insanely strong they were also beyond boring to play against and it didn't help everyone likes to use the same deck as everyone else. Was literally playing the exact same deck up to 3 times in a row from NG lock spam into oblivion and monster relics on repeat. Horrible experience absolutely horrible out of my whole time playing Gwent. So I decided I needed to take a break possibly quit Gwent cause if this is the direction it's gonna go I don't want anything to do with this kind of experience if this is what this game now has to offer.

Well I've started playing draft mode to get away from the toxic meta of MO relics decks and whatever NG is playing atm which can't be too different then from when I started my break but tbh draft is also a lame experience so I went back to ranked play hoping for the best and unfortunately this game is dead to my now. I no longer have any joy or happiness when playing. I like making my own decks and I was actually pretty good at it and it's annoying asf the game forces you to either go and copy some cheap meta deck or change 2-3 cards in the meta deck to call it your own fake homebrew deck and that's just ass if you ask me. I've made my own decks from the ground up that weren't even meta and kept up with meta and even at times did better than meta. So why would I want to join the herd of sheep and start copying what everyone else is doing because the devs can't figure out any type of balance in this game that continues to get worse and half the time their reworks on older cards are ass and don't help the situation nor do newer cards. I'm not saying people using all the op cards are a bad thing but it's a bad thing when these cards can absolutely poop all over everything even when you got a 40-50 point lead etc. How you gonna win with a homebrew deck that's purposely not using cheap broken cards. You can't. Not anymore.

Yrden made a lot of homebrew decks viable for this exact reason because the devs choice in adding insanely broken cards or cheap deck designs that take less skill than using Yrden like MO relics. Unless you're part of the herd and aren't using a broken cheap meta deck Yrden was the only answer and even then it didn't always guarantee the win but definitely evened the field against these creedy cheap decks that you can't answer to. I'm not sure what's fun about playing MO relics when by the time 5 cards are left in hand they are already @ almost a 100 points while you're not even over 30 yet. Sorry I'm using a deck that takes some setting up vs someone using a brainless boost slam deck that by the time I'm set up they will prolly be way over 400 something points and that's just ridiculous. Too many decks like this of relics that are just so cheap to play against and now there's no counter unless you join the party and I'm good. I'm not a follower nor do I lack the skill to make my own decks. But I'm not gonna play a game that purposely lets people play decks like that while pooping all over the people who don't scoop to that level just to win. I know clowns will say you suck or get better blah blah. I bet anyone to say that is a follower who can't even make their own deck but I'm sure they will be a keyboard warrior and talk out their butt saying they do. But until the last update I won matches just fine and had zero problems, meta sucked but all well I at least had a chance to counter it. Can't get better when the devs purposely take away things forcing me to play a way I refuse to. I don't find it fun copying over powered broken decks. Y'all might and good for you. I wasn't bullied as a kid and like I said I don't lack skill making my own decks. We are floating two different boats.

I know none of ya will care and I'm not asking you to but I have over 2,4000 hours on gwent and Gwent used to be one of my favorite games. So I needed to rant and get this off my chest and this is the only place to. Any childish comments I'ma just block you. I ain't got time for childish bs so the most of my time you'll be wasting is the first couple secs of reading whatever bs you say if you choose to be childish and however long it takes to block ya. Normally I don't mind replying even if it's negative but as of lately the negative people have been way to childish and I'm not about that stuff. I'm 26 years old got better things to do than put adult kids in their place acting like a child thinking their "trolling" me lmao. Guess what boomers being a grown person and acting worse than a toddler talking out your butt isn't trolling and not sure why you even think so. Anyways, y'all have a good night and hope y'all enjoy Gwents future. I'm out.
