Puppey basically says the Chinese scene has so much money in streaming, that their players look forward to becoming streamers, instead of it being the back up plan for western players. It's pulling pros into early retirement for better money, which is what is causing the underperforming in tournaments.
Thought this was interesting perspective, considering the recent talk around China's performance, DPC slots, and the health of their scene. It's a bit more optimistic than the rhetoric that explains their performance on a dying region, where Puppey thinks it's healthy because of the money, just that the money is not in the pro scene.
I can't confirm or deny any of this, but seems like Puppey would be uniquely aware of this kind of thing, considering Team Secret has taken exclusive Chinese streaming platform deals in the past.
