Valheim Guide: How to Acquire Strongest Weapon in the Game

Hey all,

Ive made a couple of discussion type posts here within the past 6 months but certain elements of this community are very hard pressed to view suggestions, discussion and subjective expression as just that, and not rather harsh criticism aimed at the groin of the developers.

Never the less. Something that's become quite common in the community lately given that everyone is on their 2nd, 3rd…10th play through, is self imposed hardcore. For a game like this, a mode where one death = server reset or at least character death, and also the lack of tablets to find bosses necessitating much more expansive exploration, feels like a feature that should have been there from day one.

A typical response to this in the past is "Just do it yourself no one stopping you, just reset if you die" But being challenged by a system is very different to simply quietly, 'unnecessarily' deleting everything without a sense of real comparison to others. Without a sense of community and competition, without knowing that everyone's held to the same rules and standards. The moment thats this would create for the game are so extensive. The dying on the last boss after coming so far, the new reset where you drown due to a sudden swell, the tree falls, the falling from the third floor without checking your food level. Theyd all be shared, and i can see the compilations of HC deaths being some of the funniest, and most serious content to come out of the game.

As far as work, i imagine its less coding than many other minor options, and the replayabilty, and the intense competition would far exceed any other small tweak they could make to the game at this point.

Sincerely, a Valheim fan
