With the most recent Golconda CG, I started looking more into the whole generation ship/listening post thing, and decided I wanted to see if I could find one or two myself. However, the information I've been seeing on Listening Posts (LPs) has been less than consistent.
I've seen users say they're always located within the 1000 LS visibility range when you first jump into a system, and others have said they can be near any celestial body in the system regardless of distance. And some have said that both can happen, but LPs leading to generation ships in particular are within 1000 LS of the main star? I have no clue what to think now, and was hoping people here would know.
Furthermore, I've been trying to find a way to view a map of systems with known LPs to try and visually predict where more might be, but have come up empty. I've checked both EDSM and Canonn, and neither of them allow me to filter by stars with LPs. If needed, I suppose I could manually bookmark the and go from there, but that would take quite a while.
If anyone has any ideas or other info, I'd love to hear it.
