I was happy to hear what Solana Games General Manager Johnny Lee had to say about Solana's future intentions at the PlayGG event in San Diego because it appears like the Solana Foundation wants to change the story and flip the script. Has anyone attended the event?
The Solana Foundation, according to Lee, anticipated the free two-day event would encourage media, local families, and investors to experience blockchain gaming in a way that didn't promote cryptocurrencies or NFTs. Professional gamers from the G2 Esports squad participated in the tournament, which featured titles including Alchemy: Battle for Ankhos, Aurory, and Star Atlas.
I found it interesting that Lee stated that the objective for games backed by the Solana Games project is to stand tall even when compared to traditional ones, not just to be better than other blockchain games. I only play a small number of blockchain games, and all but one of them are based on the Solana blockchain, including Star Atlas, Aurory, and Coin Fantasy.
I've long believed that developers ought to adopt this mindset and that Web3 games should contend with all games rather than just those on the blockchain. Therefore, it's encouraging to know that they are prepared to invest the money and effort necessary to guarantee the release of high-quality games on the Solana network.
Which Solana games do you play?
