In case anyone doesn't know, the high Q times we see at the moment are due to excessive load the on the EFT servers, not a lack of players. Essentially their servers can only support a set number of games at a time and if you Q up for a game when its at max capacity, the servers waits until someone else finishes their game and assigns you to that free slot.
Now, one of the reasons the game has a such a high number of players at the moment is because a lot of Fortnite streamers started playing EFT as the game has gotten very stale due to lack of major content updates. Of course, the viewers soon followed, so essentially right now you have a lot of Fortnite kids playing your game.
On February 20th Fortnite will drop a new season. They have been hyping this one up for 2+ months now and it is the longest the game has gotten without a major update. A good chunk of players will move back to February the 20th to check out the new season, so this will relieve a lot of stress on EFT servers. Less stress = more free slots, so we should have a much faster Q. Not sure by what magnitude it will drop, but is should be at least noticeable.
tl;dr: Servers will be under less stress on February 20 due to a new Fortnite Season, so Q times will drop.
