The tale of the worst wolf trainer in Valheim

Spent the better part of 4 hours kiting and taming my first wolves. Didn't have a stonecutter near me so I built a small pen out of wood. Didn't know he'd keep freaking out and attacking if I was close, he broke out and immediately killed our boars.

OK, lets try again.

I doubled up on the walls, threw more food in and walked to what I thought was a reasonable distance. It was not, he breaks out again and bee lines it for one of my friends who was building an extension on the house and listening to a podcast, kills him. I kite him back in to the pen.

It is at this point he turns off his podcast, asks what the fuck I'm doing and realizes his 6 boars are mysteriously missing. He vows to kill my wolf. I can not let this happen, I've already been at this for 50 minutes and he's 42% tamed. As my friend approaches I purposely let him loose and he again kills my buddy who just started eating again so he goes down in one bite. Dominance has been established and by buddy leaves us to our business.

First wolf has been tamed. I hide him underground in our portal room so my friend doesn't get his revenge on our now docile friend.

I go back to the mountain, kite another wolf in. This time I made a stonecutter near the pen and built a stone pen, still a wood gate because I didn't have any iron. This doesn't go much smoother as more people are now entering out game and walking past the pen, causing my new wolf to break the gate and destroy all our beehives. I get him back in the pen and just give up on a gate all together and stone wall him in.

Wolf tamed, success.

I bring the two together after hours, they multiply at an extreme rate. I now have 12 wolves.

Immediate drake attack.

I now have 4 wolves, they multiply to 8

Ooze attack

I now have 3 wolves, they multiply back to 8

Surtling attack

I now have 1 wolf.
